The Senior Applications Engineer is a pivotal role requiring advanced mechanical engineering expertise, with a focus on thermal and fluid sciences. This position involves managing complex projects from inception to completion, interfacing with clients to gather and apply design specifications, performing engineering analysis, generating proposals, and coordinating with design and manufacturing teams to ensure project success.
Responsibilities
+ Gain a comprehensive understanding of our products and fabrication methods.
+ Manage and execute complex engineering projects, ensuring adherence to customer specifications.
+ Interface with customers to gather requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
+ Perform engineering analysis and generate proposals to win contracts.
+ Collaborate with designers, quality personnel, and fabricators in our in-house facilities.
+ Travel to client sites 2-3 days every 3-4 months and as market demands.
+ Provide heat-transfer solutions across various industries including power generation and chemical processing.
Essential Skills
+ Advanced engineering knowledge with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
+ Concentration in thermal and fluid sciences.
+ Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (Sections III, VIII) is preferred.
+ Proficient in heat exchangers, both finned tube and shell and tube.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing complex projects.
+ Experience with steel and/or copper manufacturing processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of pressure vessel codes, such as section 8 or 1, B31.1 or B31.3.
+ Experience in technical sales, sales support, and customer service.
+ Project management skills.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively with various teams.
+ Experience in manufacturing, sheet metal, and welding.
+ Familiarity with coil design and custom processes.
Work Environment
The role involves a dynamic work environment with a variety of projects that provide continuous learning opportunities. Engineers own the entire process from estimation to project design, working closely with existing customers and interfacing with purchasing groups and vendors. Travel is expected 3-6 times a year for introductions and field visits. The company supports continuing education for all engineering personnel.

This is a Permanent position based out of Chaska, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
