Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Specialty Pharmacy Technician to join our team at our Optum location in AL012. This role involves fulfilling the shipping of specialty medications across the country, working alongside a team of up to 10 pharmacy professionals in a fulfillment setting.
Responsibilities
+ Use multiple computer systems to obtain pharmacy orders, compare to orders received, and produce mailing labels.
+ Utilize the best method for product packing and shipping based on standard procedures, including type of packaging and unique conditions such as refrigeration, to ensure safe and secure delivery.
+ Prepare manual prescription orders by verifying information, pulling appropriate prescription drugs from inventory, and completing necessary scanning and packaging.
+ Maintain various machines and equipment, such as IPD machines and auto packing machines.
Essential Skills
+ Active AL pharmacy tech license.
+ Proficiency in using multiple computer systems for order processing.
+ Experience in product packing and shipping, with an understanding of standard procedures.
+ Ability to prepare and verify manual prescription orders.
+ Experience in maintaining machines and equipment used in pharmacy settings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
+ Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
+ Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is advantageous.
+ Previous experience in a pharmacy tech role and pharmacy shipping is recommended.
Work Environment
This position operates within a specialty pharmacy environment, focusing on preparing and shipping orders. The role involves working day shifts from 7:30 am to 4 pm or 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The dress code is casual. The team is collaborative, with up to 10 members, and the work environment is a high-volume production setting with opportunities for growth and cross-training.

This is a Contract position based out of Birmingham, Alabama.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
