Description
The Tooling Technician is responsible for managing the lifecycle of tooling assets used in the molding and assembly. This includes oversight of the tooling database, assembly and maintenance of tools, asset tracking and reporting, and coordination with internal and external partners. The role ensures tooling availability, quality, and where applicable, compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) contractual requirements, enabling consistent, high-quality production and supporting operational readiness. This position is closely aligned with the company’s SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) process to anticipate upcoming demand and ensure a proactive pipeline of tooling. Tooling Database Management- Maintain a comprehensive tooling database including: In-house tooling inventory Tooling in manufacture Tooling pending approval Tooling nearing wear limits New tooling requiring procurement Government-approved tooling via the ECP (Engineering Change Proposal) process, aligned with DoD program requirements Tooling requiring ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Report) approval Assemble and complete tooling upon arrival at the facility. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on tooling assets. Manage tooling storage, labeling, and location tracking. Replace worn or damaged components and support TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives. Support tooling needs for helmet assembly operations, ensuring availability and readiness of jigs, fixtures, and specialized tooling. Laser scan tools to verify compliance with design intent. Must be able to lift and transport 80 lbs on a consistent basis. Asset Management & Reporting Treat tooling as capital assets with monthly reporting on: Tooling status and condition Assets requiring write-off CapEx control and forecasting Support audits and compliance with asset management policies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in tooling, CNC operations, or asset management. · Familiarity with ERP/MES (Tulip preferable) systems and tooling databases. · Experience with molding operations, temperature control systems, cooling mechanisms, and assembly tooling. · Strong organizational and communication skills. Preferred Skills · Experience with CapEx procedures and asset lifecycle management. · Knowledge of ISIR and DoD ECP approval processes. · Hands-on experience with tool assembly, maintenance, and TPM practices. · Experience with tool measurement or optical scanning

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
