Job Title: Software Engineer

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Software Engineer supporting Internal Research and Development (IRAD) initiatives in Huntsville, AL. Work collaboratively in a diverse environment to understand system requirements and develop new capabilities and algorithms essential to system performance. This role requires intensive mathematics and physics-based problem-solving. In addition to software development, you will participate in reviewing requirements and test cases for software capabilities.

Responsibilities

+ Collaborate with a team to understand system requirements and create new capabilities.

+ Implement complex algorithms and capabilities that are critical to system performance.

+ Participate in the review and development of software requirements and test cases.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in C/C++, Java, Unix, Linux, MATLAB, and Python.

+ Active secret clearance.

+ Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or 3+ years of relevant experience.

+ Recent and extensive software development experience in C++ or Java.

+ Experience with Unix/Linux OS, scripting, automated software testing, and analysis.

+ Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

+ Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira, GitHub, and Jenkins.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Advanced degree in Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science is preferred.

+ High proficiency with Linux, scripting, and operations.

+ Experience in automated software requirements testing and analysis.

+ Familiarity with battle management or fire control systems.

+ Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) tools like Cucumber.

+ Proficiency in Static & Dynamic Code Analysis Tools like Coverity, Fortify, and SonarQube.

+ Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in conjunction with CI/CD, containers, and pipelines.

+ Solid experience in mathematics and physics.

Work Environment

Work onsite at a cleared facility, either at the Bradford Drive location or Redstone Gateway Location. The role supports a cleared IRAD project for a major defense company in the United States, offering a professional and secure work environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Huntsville, Alabama.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr.
