Medical Receptionist

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for patients as they arrive and depart from the clinic. The receptionist will manage front desk operations, including patient check-in/check-out, and administrative support.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Patient Interaction:
+ Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival.
+ Verify patient information and update records as needed.
+ Check patients in for appointments and notify clinical staff of arrivals.
+ Collect co-pays and other payments at check-in or check-out.
+ Answer patient questions or direct them to appropriate staff.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Administrative Duties:
+ Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
+ Maintain a clean and organized front desk and waiting area.
+ Manage appointment calendars and ensure accurate scheduling.
+ Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and emails.
+ Assist with insurance verification and billing inquiries as needed.
Compliance & Confidentiality:
+ Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
+ Maintain confidentiality of patient records and sensitive information.
Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in medical office administration preferred.
+ Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and office software.
+ Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
