Job Title: Engineer Technician II
Job Description
This position involves providing support to engineers on technical projects and products. Responsibilities include collecting, maintaining, organizing, compiling, and manipulating technical data. You may be tasked with creating, assembling, modifying, and repairing prototypes, as well as preparing engineering documentation, reports, drawings, sketches, flow charts, diagrams, and schematics. The role also involves performing mathematical calculations as per engineering specifications and undertaking data analyses with provided guidelines. This is an entry-level position where incumbents are learning job skills and becoming familiar with company policies to complete assignments.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate with permit agencies, right-of-way specialists, system owners, field leaders, forestry leaders, and third-party owners for joint-owned poles.
+ Review work provided by the client and assess requirements of scopes.
+ Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure compliance with engineering and construction standards.
+ Conduct root cause analysis of outages and apply mitigation using engineering principles and design.
+ Travel to sites as needed, perform inspections, return to the office for engineering design work, and collect field data to assist in developing electrical design work packages.
Essential Skills
+ High school education or equivalent.
+ 1+ years of business-related experience.
+ Willingness to perform both field and office work.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
+ Ability to work in outdoor environments, as field work may be required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Power/Utilities experience is preferred.
+ Previous experience with field data collection is preferred.
Work Environment
The role involves both office and field responsibilities, with 40% of the time spent in the field. The position requires working in various environments, including outdoor settings.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
