    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Wabo Inspector specializing in concrete to perform daily inspections of construction projects, ensuring quality and adherence to building code requirements, construction drawings, and project specifications. The role involves inspections across various disciplines such as structural steel, concrete, masonry, fireproofing, and more. You will conduct visual and physical inspections, field testing, and prepare detailed inspection reports. Effective communication with engineers and project managers will be essential, as will be adhering to strict safety standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform testing, observation, and inspection according to training and specified procedures to ensure compliance with contract specifications.

    + Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

    + Provide clear documentation of findings and results.

    + Prepare inspection reports and document any nonconformance.

    + Conduct basic analysis of data for accuracy before submitting to the Project Manager.

    + Communicate findings to the Project Manager and other personnel as directed.

    + Interact with clients and site personnel to suggest resolutions for findings.

    + Assist the Project Manager in developing the scope for testing and inspection services.

    + Coordinate pre-dispatch activities with Project, Department, and Office Managers.

    + Maintain equipment operation and assist other inspectors on large, complex projects.

    + Follow safety rules and practices for all projects, including pre-task planning.

    + Report any safety issues or concerns to management.

    + Maintain quality standards on all projects.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 3 years' experience with Post Tension concrete and reinforced concrete.

    + WABO certification is required.

    + Proficiency in construction inspection, particularly in concrete and civil construction.

    + Knowledge in using inspection equipment and techniques such as ACI and ICC.

    + Valid driver's license required.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Preferred certifications include proprietary anchors, reinforced concrete, post tension, firestopping, and structural wood.

    Work Environment

    The role involves working on high-profile projects primarily located between Tacoma, Seattle, and Bellevue, minimizing travel outside these areas. Our scheduler makes efforts to assign projects close to inspectors' residences. The work environment includes 480 active projects, with approximately three dozen different projects each week, all throughout the Seattle Metro area. 80% of the work is commercial, which is often a preferred project type over transportation projects.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lynnwood, Washington.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
