Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design cranes, material handling equipment, and other devices using Solid Edge. You will operate in a structured 3-D environment where collaboration and model sharing between engineers are standard practices. This role requires an ability to design mechanical drive systems and perform initial sizing calculations for motors, gearboxes, couplings, and other mechanical components. Attention to detail is critical as you will follow customer specifications and industry codes precisely. You will annotate drawings with AWS D1.1 weld symbols, ANSI machining symbols, and other standardized signs to ensure clarity for customers and manufacturing facilities. Developing Bills of Materials (BOM) to itemize all components of the mechanical design will also be part of your duties. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with other disciplines such as electrical, fabrication, and installation crews to facilitate turn-key projects, read building prints, provide phone support and technical assistance, and perform optimization of crane components to reduce costs and improve delivery schedules.
