Job Description: Quality Engineering Technician
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Engineering Technician to join our team in a high-precision, defense manufacturing environment. This role demands a strong foundation in metrology, inspection techniques, and a proactive mindset to uphold the rigorous quality standards required in defense production.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct thorough inspections using calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure compliance with defense-grade specifications.
+ Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to interpret complex engineering drawings and validate part conformity.
+ Operate advanced metrology equipment including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), Smart Scope systems, Keyence camera/vision systems, Optical Comparators, and Force testing equipment.
+ Document inspection results and support root cause analysis for non-conformances.
+ Collaborate with engineering, production, and compliance teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
+ Maintain calibration records and ensure all measurement equipment meets defense industry standards.
+ Support internal audits and contribute to maintaining AS9100 or equivalent quality certifications.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably within aerospace or defense manufacturing.
+ MUST HAVE: CMM operation and programming. (Zeiss Calypso Preferred)
+ Strong understanding of metrology and inspection protocols.
+ Excellent communication and documentation skills.
+ Demonstrated patience, integrity, and a positive mindset to support departmental growth.
+ Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
+ Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and root cause analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience programming Zeiss CMMs using Calypso software.
+ Familiarity with defense industry standards, including MIL-SPEC and ITAR compliance.
+ Experience supporting the generation of PPAPs and quality inspections.
+ Familiarity with blueprint reading and quality engineering.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $62400.00/yr.
