Project Engineer (Capital Projects | Regulated Manufacturing | NYC)

Lead high-impact capital projects in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment.

We’re hiring a Project Engineer to manage the design, implementation, and validation of facility, manufacturing, and packaging systems. This is a 100% onsite role in NYC for the first six months, ideal for a technically skilled engineer with strong project management experience in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals or cosmetics.

About the Role

You’ll serve as the technical lead on capital projects exceeding $1MM, overseeing planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution. This role requires hands-on involvement in documentation, vendor coordination, and compliance with cGMP and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

+ Lead capital projects from concept through completion

+ Develop and review URS, DFMEA, P&IDs, layouts, and scopes of work

+ Manage project budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams

+ Oversee FAT, SAT, commissioning, CQV, and change control

+ Conduct site visits and support purchasing, invoicing, and documentation

+ Ensure compliance with cGMP, safety, and regulatory standards

+ Track project progress and communicate updates to stakeholders

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Biomedical, or Engineering Management)

+ 6+ years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment

+ Proven leadership of cross-functional teams and external vendors

+ Strong initiative, accountability, and communication skills

+ Willingness to adjust work schedule to meet project demands

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience with AutoCAD, MS Project, and capital budget management

+ PMP certification or equivalent

+ Familiarity with SAP

+ Experience in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, or similar regulated industries

+ Exposure to liquid packaging lines (a plus)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $63.00/hr.
