• Electrical Systems Engineer

    Actalent (Baton Rouge, LA)


    + Electrical Component Development

    + Contribute to the design and integration of motor drives, valve controllers, electronic control units (ECUs), and wire harness assemblies tailored for defense systems.

    + Component Testing & Analysis

    + Perform hands-on testing and characterization of electrical components using oscilloscopes, signal generators, power analyzers, and regulated power supplies.

    + Prototype Assembly

    + Support the build and evaluation of vapor cycle system prototypes, ensuring readiness for functional testing and performance validation.

    + Technical Documentation

    + Generate and maintain detailed engineering documentation—including schematics, PCB layout files, test protocols, and technical reports—to support design and verification activities.

    + Tool Proficiency

    + Utilize MATLAB, Simulink, Altium Designer, and SolidWorks Electrical to model, simulate, and refine electrical systems and components.

    + Cross-Functional Collaboration

    + Partner with electrical, mechanical, and project engineering teams to align design efforts with program goals and delivery timelines.

    + Troubleshooting & Optimization

    + Diagnose issues across design, test, and integration phases; implement corrective actions and design improvements to ensure system reliability.

    + Regulatory Compliance

    + Adhere to defense industry standards and engineering best practices, ensuring all deliverables meet applicable regulatory and quality requirements.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
