Join us as we transform healthcare by building a unified technology platform for value-based care. As a** **Staff Compute / Software Engineer,** **you will be the key individual contributor driving high-impact, distributed systems from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities and Ownership
You will operate as a high-impact technical individual contributor, owning the delivery and operational excellence of critical platform components.
The Staff Compute Engineer will work closely with platform engineering leaders to deliver automation-first solutions that support RxConnect platforms.
+ **Architecture & Design** : Collaborate with engineering and application teams to architect end-to-end solutions that span cloud-native services, hybrid deployments, and legacy integrations. Ensure alignment with enterprise automation and resiliency standards.
+ **DevOps & CI/CD Enablement** : Lead the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Harness, and Octopus Deploy. Drive automation of build, test, and deployment workflows across environments.
+ **Multi-Cloud Strategy** : Develop and maintain cloud migration roadmaps, leveraging Azure, AWS, and GCP capabilities. Implement best practices for cloud governance, security, and cost optimization.
+ **Automation Leadership** : Build reusable automation components and integrate them with orchestration platforms and CMDB systems. Promote self-service capabilities and infrastructure-as-code principles.
+ **Operations & Reliability** : Design and operate Tier-0 systems with high availability, telemetry, and observability standards. Participate in L3/L4 triage, incident response.
+ **Security & Compliance** : Collaborate with InfoSec and compliance teams to implement access controls, audit trails, and secure deployment practices.
+ **Innovation & Mentorship** : Conduct proof-of-concept evaluations for emerging technologies. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal communities of practice.
Required Technical Qualifications:
+ 7+ years of expertise in server design, implementation, and maintenance
+ Proficiency in capacity planning and performance tuning
+ Deep knowledge of DevOps tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc)
+ Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and deployment automation
+ Proficiency in multi-cloud architecture (Azure, AWS, GCP)
+ Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
+ Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
+ Familiarity with container orchestration, API gateways, and serverless deployments
+ Understanding of security frameworks, audit compliance, and change management processes.
+ Strong knowledge of Taxi, database technologies, specific web/app server technologies

Education:
+ Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$130,295.00 - $260,590.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
