Position Summary
CVS Health is looking for a team-oriented leader, network security professional, to provide leadership for multiple controls across our infrastructure. The successful candidate will have experience with designing, deploying and administering the following controls: Network Access Control (NAC), Network Detection & Response (NDR), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), NGFW, and Cloud Technologies. The individual will lead a team of security engineers. He should be able to provide proper direction and technical instruction, a hands-on manager.
The Lead Director of Network Security is responsible for network security strategy, ensuring integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data across CVS. This role involves leading a team of highly technical security professionals, developing and implementing security policies and procedures, and collaborating with other departments to improve CVS’ security posture. The Lead Director will also drive the adoption of innovative security technologies and practices, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with regulatory requirements. The candidate should possess strategic leadership, strong team management, highly technical skills, great communication and collaboration skills.

As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures to protect an organization’s systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. You will work closely with IT teams and other departments to ensure the organization’s security infrastructure meets the highest standards, safeguarding sensitive data and ensuring regulatory compliance. Your work will be an essential part of driving positive change in the network security space. This team makes a powerful impact on the organization’s security posture.
Responsibilities include:
+ Manage a team of security engineers
+ Provide technical strategic and tactical direction
+ Deploying and administering network security controls
+ Performing incident response (IR) functions
+ Developing policies and producing reports on compliance status
+ Developing and enforcing security policies and procedures related to NAC, NDR, IPS, or WAF usage
+ Hardening the corporate network
+ Providing training to other team members and producing documentation
+ Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and industry standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.
Required Qualifications:
+ 10+ years’ experience in a network security engineering role
+ 10+ years’ experience designing, deploying and administering intrusion prevention systems, network access control systems, network detection & response systems and web application firewalls
+ 10+ years’ hands-on experience with the following solutions:(1)Web application firewalls such as, Akamai, Imperva, Cloudflare or Radware, (2) Intrusion Prevention Systems such as Cisco Firepower, Fortinet, or Palo Alto, (3) Network Detection & Response (NDR) systems such as Arista Awake NDR, Cisco Stealth Watch, FortiNDR, or Corelight (4) Network access control (NAC) systems such as Forescout, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) or Fortinet FortiNAC
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Proven leadership abilities and experience working in cross-functional teams.
+ A proactive approach to identifying and addressing security challenges.
+ Security Engineering & Architecture (ZTNA, IAM, DevSecOps)
+ Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Ansible, Bash)
+ Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
+ Expert understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
+ Expert communication skills
+ Ability to collaborate within a team environment as well as independently
+ An initiative-taking, self-starter attitude
+ The ability to find innovative solutions
+ Ability to troubleshoot effectively and work under pressure
+ Vision to automate repetitive tasks
+ Ability to muti-task efficiently
+ Keen attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of security.
+ Relevant certifications (CISSP, CEH, CCNA, CompTIA Security+, SANS GIAC, GPEN)
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$144,200.00 - $288,400.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
