A Building Enclosure Project Engineer is responsible for providing and overseeing Building Envelope Commissioning/Consulting Services to a wide variety of clients on a variety of project types from University Campus, Medical and Research facilities, Battery and Manufacturing plants and commercial projects. Responsibilities include consulting, testing, and commissioning a variety of building enclosure systems. This role will require some travel.
Essential Functions:
+ Oversee Design Reviews
+ Oversee submittal and shop drawing reviews
+ Oversee periodic site inspections
+ Testing of exterior envelope systems, both in the field and in laboratory settings.
+ Review site reports and maintain logs of ongoing project issues.
+ Provide client support as it relates to the envelope systems.
+ Responsible for project scheduling and budgets.
+ Development of project management standards and procedures.
+ Attend conferences and industry events.
+ Maintain existing client relationships and assist in new client/project relations.
+ Any special projects as required
Essential Qualifications and Attributes:
+ General understanding of the fundamentals and detailing of various façade types.
+ Genuine interest in following a project through from design through post occupancy.
+ Strong interest in being in the field, witnessing envelope systems being installed and tested.
+ Strong wiring skills, experience in past site report writing is a plus.
+ Able to adapt quickly and work well with others, especially under tight deadlines.
+ Willingness to travel.
+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
+ Comfort with conveying ideas quickly through note writing and sketching.
+ Working knowledge of Revit is a plus.
Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture / Engineering or Master’s degree.
+ Experience working in an architectural firm would be an advantage
+ Ideally experience doing Construction Administration.
+ Willingness and ability to travel at a regular frequency.
