Description
We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team in New Era, Michigan. In this role, you will manage multiple human resources functions, including benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, and performance management. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in HR practices and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace environment.
Responsibilities:
• Administer employee benefits programs, including maintaining accurate enrollment data, reconciling benefit bills, and coordinating with vendors for claims and billing inquiries.
• Oversee compliance with federal regulations regarding benefit plans and support open enrollment communication for new hires and existing employees.
• Manage leave administration processes, including short-term and long-term disability claims, workers’ compensation filings, and adherence to leave-related policies.
• Handle full-cycle recruitment for various roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and extending offers in collaboration with hiring managers.
• Facilitate onboarding and new employee orientation while ensuring smooth offboarding processes through coordination with payroll and other departments.
• Support employee relations by coaching managers on performance management and assisting in the development and implementation of workplace policies.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain accurate records for mandatory training, certifications, and assessments.
• Prepare and update employee handbooks, track compliance metrics, and contribute to department goals and objectives.
• Respond to employment verification requests and unemployment claims while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
• Plan and organize company-sponsored activities and events to foster employee engagement.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in human resources, with expertise in benefits administration, recruitment, and employee relations.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and a strong understanding of HR processes and compliance requirements.
• Solid knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coaching, training, and resolving employee concerns.
• Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple HR functions and maintain accurate documentation.
• Experience in handling leave administration and workers’ compensation claims is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to evolving business needs.
