Description We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our organization within the financial services industry. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your accounting skills while contributing to the efficiency and accuracy of the department.

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and efficiency.

• Reconcile bank statements to ensure financial records align with account balances.

• Utilize QuickBooks to manage and maintain financial data and reports.

• Accurately code invoices and verify all supporting documentation for payment processing.

• Perform data entry tasks to ensure financial records are up-to-date and error-free.

• Assist in preparing and reviewing financial reports for accuracy and compliance.

• Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and provide necessary documentation.

• Maintain organized and secure records of financial transactions.

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities as needed. Requirements • Proven experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and financial documentation.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks for financial data management.

• Ability to accurately code invoices and perform precise data entry.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and analysis.

• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
