Description

We are looking for a skilled Accounts Receivable Clerk to join a remote team. As part of this contract position, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate claim management, resolving payment discrepancies, and maintaining compliance standards. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and inclusive work environment while supporting healthcare operations.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze denied and pending claims to identify and address issues in third-party accounts receivable.

• Initiate outbound calls to insurance providers to appeal claims and verify their status.

• Coordinate resolutions with insurance carriers to reconcile discrepancies and streamline claim processing.

• Process refunds and adjustments for insurance and patient accounts as needed.

• Ensure compliance with organizational standards and industry regulations at all times.

• Monitor worklists and meet daily production and quality metrics.

• Familiarize yourself with explanations of benefits to effectively address claim inquiries.

• Collaborate with team members to adapt to evolving business needs and responsibilities.

• Conduct research using internet tools to support claim-related problem-solving efforts.

Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Minimum of one year of experience working in healthcare accounts receivable or claims follow-up.

• Proven experience with Medicare and commercial insurance providers.

• At least one year of billing or collections experience in a hospital or facility setting.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Ability to work an eight-hour shift, Monday through Friday.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
