    The Salesforce Marketing Solutions is a senior technical leader responsible for designing and delivering sophisticated marketing cloud solutions. This role spans architecture, integration, strategy, and execution across Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, and Salesforce CRM (Lightning). The architect works closely with marketing, data, operations, and engineering teams to implement scalable, secure, and high-performance systems that enable personalized, real-time customer engagement and measurable business outcomes.

     

    This role blends deep technical expertise with strategic vision to architect personalized customer journeys, drive marketing automation, and integrate SFMC with broader CRM and data ecosystems.

     

    The ideal candidate is a hands-on architect with a strong background in CRM, marketing technologies, and cloud platforms, capable of translating complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.

     

    What You'll Do

    Scalable Marketing Cloud & Data Cloud Solutions

    + Design the overall architecture for a unified marketing stack: integrating SFMC, Data Cloud, Salesforce Lightning CRM, and the website, with external data sources via APIs, ETL tools (e.g. job seeker platforms, candidate databases, data science models, etc) ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability

    + Define data models, integration patterns, identity resolution logic, segmentation schemas, automation strategies and data pipelines to support 400M+ personalized emails/year

    Integration & Data Flow Design

    + Specify how data moves between systems: e.g. CRM → Data Cloud → Marketing Cloud, web behavior signals (from website/CMS) into Data Cloud

    + Define APIs and real-time ingestion pipelines of data science, third party data, etc. into SFMC and Data Cloud

    + Ensure identity resolution, data hygiene, and synchronization processes enable a single, accurate customer view, maximizing Data Cloud effectiveness and impact in marketing and sales

    + Leverage APIs, middleware, and streaming technologies to enable real-time marketing activation

    Real-Time Trigger and Journey Orchestration

    + Architect event-driven triggers (e.g. candidate applies, client posts a job, website behavior) that initiate automated email journeys

    + Design fallback and re-engagement flows for clients or candidates who drop off or don’t convert

    Personalization & Dynamic Content Management

    + Enable dynamic content and predictive content blocks based on Data Cloud attributes: candidate skill set, client industry, geography, past engagement

    + Ensure template architecture supports modular dynamic content so that marketing can build campaigns without heavy developer dependency

    Governance, Security & Data Management

    + Define and enforce best practices for data privacy, consent management, suppression lists, user permissions, and visibility across clouds; Maintain and document changes for alignment across marketing and IT teams

    + Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g. privacy, staffing data restrictions, GDPR/CCPA where applicable)

    Performance, Scalability, Reliability & Governance

    + Create functional specifications for high volume: ensure systems can handle large scale sends, complex segmentation, dynamic content generation, with minimal latency

    + Incorporate monitoring, error-handling, retry logic, and fallback behavior into journeys and data pipelines

    + Implement consent management, suppression logic, and compliance with data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, CAN-SPAM)

    Technical Leadership & Collaboration

    + Provide technical leadership and functional specifications that support marketing business objectives, across martech projects, guiding developers, QA, and marketing implementation resources

    + Translate business requirements into technical solutions and present architecture recommendations to stakeholders

    + Establish coding standards, best practices, and governance for AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, and dynamic, modular template design

    + Lead technical design reviews, guide developers / email engineers, data engineers, QA and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and compliance requirements

    + Translate marketing strategy and functional specifications (e.g. increase retention, candidate onboarding, etc.) into technical requirements and roadmaps

    Stakeholder Engagement

    + Engage with marketing leadership, engineering and IT/development teams to understand strategic goals; Translates complex technical solutions to marketing leadership and executive stakeholder audiences

    + Participate in vendor evaluations, proof-of-concepts (POCs) for new integrations, tools, or AI-driven content/prediction capabilities, representing the marketing in partnership with engineering and IT/development teams

    Tools, Standards & Best Practices

    + Define coding, templating, deployment, and version-control standards for Marketing Cloud (AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, HTML/CSS)

    + Establish best practices for journey design, nurture flows, email rendering, test automation, etc.

    Reporting, Measurement & Optimization

    + Define metrics / KPIs (engagement, conversion, deliverability, pipeline influenced) and ensure necessary tracking and data flows across platforms for marketing teams to consume in real time

    + Design dashboards and feedback loops so that insights from campaigns, customer behavior, and data signals inform architectural refinements

    What You'll Need

    + ~8-12+ years of experience in marketing technologies / martech environments, with 5+ years of direct, in platform experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud. Salesforce CRM Lightning experience preferred

    + Deep technical knowledge of SFMC (Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder), Data Cloud (identity resolution, real-time data activation), Marketing Cloud Personalization and Einstein AI features, APIs, ETL/integration platforms

    + Strong understanding of data modeling, database design, identity resolution, large data volumes, performance trade-offs

    + Proficiency in scripting / markup for email: AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, HTML, CSS; understanding of rendering quirks across emails, SMS and push

    + Experience with real-time systems, event triggers, streaming or near real-time data ingestion

    + Knowledge of security, compliance, governance (data privacy, consent, suppression, visibility)

    + Strong stakeholder management and communication skills: able to bridge business goals and technical constraints to marketing teams and executive leadership

    + Experience defining architectural standards, overseeing code reviews, mentoring technical and marketing teams, increasing utilization of SF tools and feature set

    + Salesforce certifications: e.g. Marketing Cloud Consultant, Marketing Cloud Technical Architect, Data Cloud Specialist, Salesforce Certified Platform Architect / Integration Architect

    + Experience in B2B marketing is a plus

     

    The typical annual salary range for this position is shown below and is negotiable depending upon experience and location. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.

     

    $107,000.00 - $162,000.00
