Robert Half is seeking an experienced Trial Paralegal with a strong background in No-Fault Defense Law to support a busy legal team in Long Island City. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced trial environment and has experience coordinating with claims departments, preparing trial packets, and managing arbitration submissions.

• Location: Long Island City, NY

• Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire (3-6 months contract while Temp)

• Compensation: $28+/hour

• Schedule: Onsite, 5 days/week

Key Responsibilities

+ Collaborate with Claims to finalize trial strategies and plans

+ Schedule and coordinate witnesses (Peer Doctors, Coders, In-House)

+ Ensure expert witnesses are prepared and confirmed ahead of trial

+ Maintain shared Outlook calendar with witness schedules and reminders

+ Prepare physical trial files and ensure readiness for trial and Trial De Novos

+ Assemble arbitration packets for attorney appearances 1–2 days in advance

+ Submit Mandatory Arbitration Submissions to court on time

+ Track final motion dates in Kings County and ensure timely attorney filings

+ Prevent defaults by managing high-volume motion schedules

Qualifications

+ Required: Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience as a No-Fault Paralegal

+ Experience in No-Fault claims handling and defense law

+ Strong organizational and communication skills

+ Ability to manage multiple deadlines and coordinate with various stakeholders

Requirements

• Certification as a Paralegal or equivalent experience in no-fault defense law

• Knowledge of no-fault defense law and its application in trial settings.

• Proven expertise in handling discovery, civil litigation, and trial preparation.

• Familiarity with case management software and tools used in litigation processes.

• Strong organizational skills to manage high-volume cases and meet strict deadlines.

• Ability to communicate effectively with claims teams, witnesses, and legal professionals.

• Experience preparing arbitration packets and managing trial-related documentation.

• Background in claims handling within the insurance industry is a plus.
