    The University of Miami UHealth Department of Imaging Services has an exciting opportunity for a Chief MRI Technologist in Miami. The incumbent maintains responsibility for the day-to-day operations and administrative duties ensuring efficient workflow of the section; compliance with budgetary policy; ensuring the highest quality diagnostic examinations; and compliance of State/Federal/Joint Commission regulations, department/hospital policies and procedures, objectives and philosophy. The Chief MRI Technologist is accountable for the efficient patient throughout and 24-hr supervisory responsibility of department and of all departmental staff member’s scheduling, technical guidance and performance improvement. The Chief MRI Technologist performs diagnostic/job functions as required of a MRI Technologist at a level that will require no supervision of technical details.

    CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

    + Oversees imaging services, including performance or supervision of tests, and daily management of assigned personnel.

    + Assists in compilation of statistical data for departmental evaluation purposes.

    + Contributions to the preparation of the annual departmental budget and development of administrative and operational policies, procedures, and regulations.

    + Responsible for hire, discipline, and promotion of department staff.

    + Obtains and examines the diagnostic orders for appropriateness to the type of exam ordered and any special notes or comments.

    + Manages scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures.

    + Collaborates in the development of in-service training for departmental staff.

    + Completes yearly performance appraisals for the staff and handles requests for merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.

    + Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

    CORE QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent

     

    Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology /Diagnostic Imaging Program

    Certification and Licensing:

    Must possess a valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer

     

    ARRT registered with ARRT certification in primary modality

    Experience:

    Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

    Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

    + Knowledge of business and management principles

    + Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

    + Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.

    + Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.

    + Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
