    Job Title: General Production Worker

    Job Description

    This is a contract role available until the end of the year. The General Laborer will serve as a utility helper under the direction of the Supervisor, assisting various departments as needed. Tasks include wrapping mandrels, packaging products for shipping, deburring products, assisting with plant clean-up, and other assigned tasks.

    Responsibilities

    + Work in the packing department, standing for 8 hours a day to pack and seal products such as O-Rings, hydraulic seals, rotary shaft seals, oil seals, static seals, pneumatic seals, and mechanical face seals into boxes.

    + Wrap mandrels or sheets on standard bath.

    + Train to use micrometers and calipers.

    + Enter jobs on the work order, follow WOT instructions, and select parts for wrapping.

    + Use computer to enter jobs, print labels, and check counts.

    + Remove mandrel using proper equipment.

    + Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

    + Count parts and package accordingly.

    + Deburr parts utilizing a safety razor.

    + Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

    + Regularly talk or hear while performing duties and frequently stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.

    Essential Skills

    + Previous production or packaging experience.

    + Comfortable with packing and learning other manufacturing processes.

    + Ability to stand for 8 hours a day.

    + Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

    + Comfortable working around chemicals and a plastic smell.

    + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds infrequently.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Willingness to use Personal Protective Equipment.

    + Comfortable in an environment that smells like 'sharpies'.

    + Steel toe shoes required.

    Work Environment

     

    The work involves standing, walking, and lifting less than 50 pounds for long periods. Shifts are available Monday to Thursday, with 1st Shift from 5AM-3:30PM and 2nd Shift from 3:30PM-12AM. Potential mandatory overtime on Fridays and Saturdays may be required. Employees must wear Personal Protective Equipment and follow established safety procedures, avoiding jewelry or loose clothing. The environment may have a distinct smell similar to 'sharpies'.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
