Description We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis in Rochester, New York. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing financial records and ensuring accuracy in all bookkeeping activities. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting principles and is proficient in QuickBooks and other financial tools.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).

• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are properly recorded and accounted for.

• Utilize QuickBooks to track financial data and generate reports as needed.

• Oversee the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Prepare financial statements and assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

• Handle vendor invoices and payments in a timely and efficient manner.

• Monitor and resolve discrepancies in financial accounts and transactions.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze data and compile financial reports.

• Collaborate with team members to support financial audits and ensure compliance with regulations. Requirements • Proven experience in bookkeeping or a related financial role.

• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.

• Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes.

• Familiarity with general ledger maintenance and financial reporting.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
