    Job Title: Material Handler

    Job Description

    As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our shipping and receiving processes. You will be responsible for unloading fabricated products, processing paperwork, organizing shipments, and maintaining inventory.

    Responsibilities

    + Unload fabricated products from paint carts.

    + Receive and process paperwork for future shipments from the office.

    + Organize incomplete orders in the shipping area.

    + Apply appropriate shipping labels and/or packing lists.

    + Stage products in the proper area for shipping.

    + Assist in receiving as needed.

    + Perform banding and wrapping of products.

    + Utilize ERP system daily for inventory and order management.

    + Track internal movements of late or soon-to-be-late orders.

    + Operate forklifts to move finished goods as needed.

    + Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Supply Chain Department.

    + Help maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in inventory, shipping, and receiving.

    + Proficiency in logistics and data entry.

    + Knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP.

    + Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, stoop, pull, push, assemble, and carry for extended periods.

    + Capability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + GED or High School Diploma.

    + 1 year of experience in a shipping area within a manufacturing/metal fabrication company.

    + Experience with power tools and forklifts.

    + Strong computer knowledge.

    + Attention to detail is critical.

    + Ability to work 10-hour days in a fast-paced environment.

    Work Environment

     

    This position requires working in a manufacturing environment that may experience high noise levels and exposure to dust, chemicals, oil, and grease. The work environment can be hot during the summer months and may vary between hot, cold, or humid conditions. Must be available for shifts from 3:35 pm to 1:55 am, with hours on Friday varying between 1st Shift (5:30 - 11 am or 2:30 pm) and 2nd Shift (3:35 pm - 12 am).

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Beloit, Illinois.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
