             Job Title: Machinist Job Description We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team in analyzing and optimizing existing tooling. The ideal candidate will set up and operate tool room machines such as Bridgeport Mills, Surface Grinders, and other grinding/finishing tools. Responsibilities also include cleaning and refurbishing parts, maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, and strictly adhering to company and plant safety policies and procedures. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Responsibilities + Analyze and optimize existing tooling. + Set up and operate tool room machines including Bridgeport Mills and Surface Grinders. + Clean and refurbish parts as necessary. + Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. + Adhere strictly to company and plant safety policies and procedures. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + 3+ years of machining or tool room experience. + Experience as a Machinist + Proficiency in setting up and operating various machines. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Experience with hand tools, calipers, and surface grinding. + Knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in plastics is a nice to have. + Willingness to work before/after shifts and on weekends. + Ability to commute and work between two facilities. Work Environment Work in a state-of-the-art facility with brand new machines, where the company has invested significantly in equipment upgrades. Employees are expected to adhere to safety policies and maintain a clean work area. The role may require flexible working hours, including shifts and weekend work, with the possibility of commuting between two facilities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Plaines, Illinois. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
