    Job Title: Extrusion Machine Operator

    Job Description

    As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for changing extrusion tooling, including tips, dies, heater bands, and screws. You will also be tasked with reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings, utilizing tools such as calipers, micrometers, tapes, and microscopes to measure products efficiently. Additionally, you will adjust extruder parameters to ensure product specifications are met and operate a forklift to load and unload materials.

    Responsibilities

    + Change extrusion tooling such as tips, dies, heater bands, and screws.

    + Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

    + Utilize calipers, micrometers, tapes, and microscopes for product measurement.

    + Adjust extruder parameters to maintain product specifications.

    + Operate a forklift to load and unload products and materials.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with extrusion, plastics extrusion, and plastic extrusion.

    + Proficiency with calipers and micrometers.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

    + Experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel applications.

    + High School Diploma or GED or 4 years of manufacturing/production experience.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Extrusion experience is strongly preferred.

    + Candidates with CNC background and a willingness to learn will be considered.

    + Ability to multitask and troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced environment.

    + Sustained above-average attendance record.

    + No history of severe disciplinary actions.

    + Completion of required training programs.

    + Willingness to work assigned shifts and overtime.

    + Compliance with plant safety policies and PPE requirements.

    + Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and perform physically demanding tasks.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a clean and air-controlled manufacturing facility, focused on performance and continuous improvement. The role requires wearing appropriate PPE and adhering to safety policies. Be prepared to stand, bend, push, pull, kneel, climb, and work in varying weather conditions.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SMITHFIELD, North Carolina.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.50/hr.
