Job Title: Brake Press Operator

Job Description

As a Brake Press Operator, you will be responsible for reading job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. You will set stops or guides to specified lengths and measure workpiece dimensions to ensure the accuracy and quality of machine operations. Additionally, you will perform minor maintenance, set up machines, and manage finished workpieces. Assisting in directing workflow within your department and adhering to all safety rules are essential aspects of this role.

Responsibilities

+ Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.

+ Set stops or guides to specified lengths using scales, rules, or templates.

+ Measure workpiece dimensions to verify the accuracy and quality of machine operations.

+ Perform minor maintenance on machines, dies, or workpieces.

+ Set up machines, stack, mark, pack, and transport finished workpieces.

+ Assist in directing workflow within a specified department.

+ Follow all safety rules.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with press brake and machine operations.

+ Ability to set up machines and perform changeovers.

+ Proficiency in using measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers.

+ Understanding of blueprints and mechanical concepts.

+ Familiarity with machining, sheet metal, and tooling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in a machine shop environment.

+ Mechanically inclined with the ability to perform machine set-ups.

Work Environment

This position is based in a production warehouse within the sheet metal department. The environment is loud, dusty, and dirty. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 3pm to 11:30pm, with training available on either the first or second shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr.
