             Job Title: Shop Foreman Job Description Lead and assign tasks to a team of mechanics and fabricators, ensuring efficient and safe operations in the maintenance and repair of trucks and trailers. Responsibilities + Make repairs on trucks and trailers. + Enforce safety protocols. + Manage inventory and equipment maintenance. + Monitor project timelines, ensuring on-time delivery and budget adherence. + Conduct quality control checks before trailers leave the shop. + Provide technical guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members. Essential Skills + Ability to supervise and lead a maintenance team. + Strong experience with trailer and truck maintenance, including repairs and troubleshooting of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. + Strong overall mechanical knowledge with the ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in trailer repair, fabrication, or related heavy-equipment maintenance. + Leadership experience is a must. + Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with shop tools and diagnostic equipment. + Excellent organizational skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and efficiency. + Effective communication skills for interacting with staff, vendors, and customers. + Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with hydraulic systems, electrical wiring, and suspension components. + Familiarity with welding processes. + Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. + Forklift or heavy-lifting equipment certification. + Basic computer skills for work order management and inventory tracking. + CDL A with Tank and hazmat preferred but not required. Work Environment Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and 5-6 other technicians. Work on the 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 4 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break. Be prepared for occasional on-call duties. The dress code is industrial-type clothing. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Chester, New York. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $105000.00/yr. • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance (with opt out payment option of $3,000). • 7 major holidays paid. • 5 sick and personal days. • Vacation - 1 week after the first year, 2 weeks after the second year and 3 weeks after the fifth year. • 401(k) plan with company match up to 4% and company funded (5%) profit sharing pension plan.
