Job Title: Scraper Operator
Job Description
The scraper operator will be responsible for cutting to grade by driving across the terrain, scraping earth into the holding bowl for removal or relocation. The goal is to level the terrain for the Finish Dozer hands to fine grade to completion. This position requires working in the CUT, managing fill, and performing pre and end-of-day inspections of the machinery, reporting any concerns to management.
Responsibilities
+ Operate scrapers to perform mass grading on commercial job sites.
+ Manage earthwork and earthmoving using heavy equipment.
+ Perform pre-inspection and end-of-day inspection of the machine.
+ Report any machinery concerns to management.
+ Work from 6am to 6pm, Monday through Friday, with potential Saturday work depending on workload and weather conditions.
+ Be accountable for managing fill and ensuring the terrain is even for finish grading.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience operating scrapers on commercial job sites.
+ Proficiency in operating MTS 3630 Wheeled or Track Scrapers, MTS 745 with pan CAT 627 or CAT 637.
+ Valid driver's license and ability to be insured to operate a company vehicle.
+ Ability to work extended hours, potentially up to 14-hour days.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Paddle Wheel is a unique skillset and should be highlighted.
+ Professional appearance and behavior in accordance with the site code of conduct.
+ High degree of safety protocol adherence as per OSHA standards.

Work Environment
The work environment is a civil construction site with wide open spaces. A high degree of safety protocols must be followed, ensuring communication and awareness of surroundings. Distracted operating is not tolerated, and adherence to professional appearance and behavior is required in accordance with the site code of conduct.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Lunas, New Mexico.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
