From your PASSION to ours
Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Safety Supervisor. The Safety Supervisor assists in planning, directing, and implementing organizational safety and environmental programs to ensure a safe, healthy, accident-free work environment. This role requires effective communication and coordination with Management across departments. The Safety Supervisor also supports the administration of the worker’s compensation program and may be tasked with gathering and preparing evidence for audits, lawsuits, hearings, and insurance claims.
From your EXPERTISE to ours
Key responsibilities for this position include:
• Actively enforce all Company, Health and Safety, Food Safety, and GMP policies and procedures.
• Communicate with Management regarding known or ongoing floor safety issues.
• Ensure completion of assigned safety training for all Plant team members.
• Document and report on floor safety, environmental compliance, Quality, and production compliance.
• Engage employees in continuous safety improvement efforts.
• Investigate and document safety incidents, environmental releases, violations, and corrective actions.
• Manage data related to hazardous materials and environmental toxins.
• Enforce programs that mitigate human, system, and process errors.
• Assist in developing safety training materials and programs.
• Collaborate across departments to implement Safety, Environmental, and Quality initiatives.
• Create and deliver reports and data-driven materials to support decision-making.
• Enter environmental data into regulatory reporting systems.
• Protect proprietary information such as recipes, processes, and equipment.
• Travel and/or extended or off-work hours may be required.

Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred; High School diploma with relevant training considered.
Experience
• Minimum of 3 years in a related field required.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
Specialized Knowledge
• Preferred knowledge of ISO 22000.
• Understanding of OSHA regulations in a food manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with GMP and chemical symbols/coding.
• Agri-food technology experience preferred.
Skills / Abilities
• Proficient in math, algebra, geometry, and mechanical physics.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Ability to read and apply technical documentation including MSDS sheets.
Professional Certifications
• OSHA 30 Hour Certification
• Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist
• Certified Audiometric and Hearing Conservation
• First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens/AED
• HAZWOPER 24 Hour
