What you’ll do: Project Managers are responsible for establishing and leading enterprise-wide, cross functional strategic initiatives. They lead a variety of different types of projects including launching new products and services, large-scale application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades and deployments. We are currently transitioning to a scaled agile model, therefore this role will need both traditional project management, as well as scaled agile methodology experience. Responsibilities: Accountable for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering a given strategic initiative including business, operational, and information technology deliverables Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit Directs large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and partners Directly manages all aspects of the project life cycle and oversees all phases of a project Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters Validates financial forecasts, cost assumptions, and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures Works with resource managers to ensure that resource capacity planning is accurately forecast, and provides ongoing reconciliation of actual time spent against forecasts Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan Handles risks and issues management for the project-level risks and interdependencies Partners with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to track Agile development milestones and support Agile practices as needed Manages team relationships to ensure effective delivery Facilitates problem-solving and resolves stakeholder conflict Teaches, coaches, and mentors team members to remove roadblocks and drive project execution What you are good at: Proven ability to build a strong partnership and trust with stakeholders Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively & succeed within a highly collaborative culture Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally Demonstrated sound business and technical acumen Focused and versatile team player that is comfortable under pressure Understanding of cross-functional dependencies and how they impact project execution Expertise with financial data and the technology, tools and processes that support work and projects/programs Expert understanding of various software development methodologies, including Agile/Scrum Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Ability to execute with limited information and ambiguity What you have 8+ years of project management experience, managing multiple large, complex and cross functional projects, with emphasis on product development, systems, and technical environments 8+ years of experience with project management tools and artifacts, including MS Project, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, project budgets, change requests, status reports, etc. Demonstrated ability to mobilize and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict, deliver tough messages with grace 1-3 years of Schwab Cost basis Tax experience as a current or recent contractor or employee Proven experience with and understanding of various software development methodologies, including Agile/Scrum Proven ability to quickly build relationships and earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects Experience playing an active role implementing a scaled agile methodology BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience Preferred Skills: Release Train Engineer experience, preferred Background/experience in financial services industry PMP or PMI-ACP certification What you’ll get: Everyday Wellness: Healthy Rewards, Onsite Fitness Classes, Healthy Choices, Wellness Champions Financial Fitness: 401k Match, Employee Discounts, Personalized advice, Brokerage discounts Work/Life Balance: Sabbatical, New Mothers returning to work Program, Tuition Reimbursement Programs, Time off to volunteer Inclusion: Employee Resource Groups, Commitment to diversity, Strategic partnerships Not just a job, but a career, with an opportunity to do the best work of your life Learn more about Life@Schwab.
