We are seeking an innovative and collaborative Base Technology Deployment Manager to join our IT leadership team, reporting to the Director of End User Operations. This critical role drives the planning, coordination, and execution of technology deployments across base operations, ensuring modern, secure, and standardized IT infrastructure, systems, and services that meet operational needs. With at least 5 years of IT experience, you will lead a high-performing team, partner with internal teams to align deployments, and provide hands-on support when required. You will manage deployments within budget constraints to keep IT assets current, deliver exceptional customer service to stakeholders, and travel to base locations up to 25% of the time. This high-impact role enhances operational efficiency, security, and innovation across our distributed environment.
As Base Technology Deployment Manager, you will be a collaborative leader who drives the deployment of modern, secure, and standardized technology across our bases, ensuring operational excellence and innovation. By leading a high-performing team, partnering with development teams, and delivering exceptional customer service within budget, you will enhance our IT infrastructure’s reliability and agility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Technology Deployment & Implementation
+ Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of technology rollouts across multiple base locations, ensuring modern, secure, and standardized solutions like updated hardware, cloud-integrated systems, and end-user devices.
+ Deliver and communicate deployments on time, within scope, and budget, ensuring IT assets remain current and aligned with organizational goals for performance and security.
+ Develop and maintain detailed deployment roadmaps, timelines, life cycles, and resource allocation plans to drive efficient and standardized technology adoption.
+ Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal development teams to ensure seamless delivery of innovative solutions that enhance operational capabilities.
Stakeholder & Team Management
+ Lead and mentor a high-performing team of deployment technicians and engineers, fostering a collaborative culture through coaching, skill development, and performance feedback (minimum 5 years of IT experience with proven leadership required).
+ Act as a hands-on leader, stepping in to troubleshoot deployment issues or support critical tasks when needed to ensure successful rollouts.
+ Partner with development teams to ensure base technology deployments support application requirements, enabling secure and efficient software performance.
+ Serve as the primary liaison between IT leadership, base operations teams, and stakeholders, delivering exceptional customer service through clear communication and engagement.
Service Delivery & Support
+ Ensure all deployed technologies adhere to modern security standards (e.g., encryption, secure access controls) and compliance requirements to protect operations and data.
+ Establish robust post-deployment support processes to minimize disruptions, collaborating with IT Service Desk and Infrastructure teams for smooth transitions to steady-state support.
+ Monitor service delivery KPIs, such as deployment success rates and user satisfaction, to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
+ Drive standardization of technology platforms across bases to simplify management, reduce complexity, and enhance reliability.
Project & Process Management
+ Apply ITIL and project management best practices to ensure disciplined, budget-conscious deployments that maximize value and keep IT assets up to date.
+ Maintain comprehensive deployment checklists, standard operating procedures, and documentation to ensure consistency and transparency.
+ Track and report deployment progress, risks, and budget adherence to IT leadership, proactively addressing issues to maintain project timelines.
+ Promote standardized technology platforms across all bases to streamline operations and ensure a modern, secure infrastructure.
Knowledge Management and Process Improvement
+ Develop and maintain detailed documentation of deployment configurations, technology standards, solutions, and optimizations in enterprise ticketing and knowledge systems to support ongoing operations.
+ Drive continuous improvement in deployment processes and service delivery models, incorporating innovative approaches to enhance efficiency and user experience.
+ Leverage feedback from stakeholders and end users to refine deployment strategies, ensuring high satisfaction and operational success.
Key Performance Expectations
+ Successful, on-time, and on-budget technology deployments across all base locations.
+ Minimal operational disruptions during rollout periods, with robust post-deployment support.
+ Consistent, modern, and secure technology platforms are standardized across all bases.
+ High satisfaction scores from stakeholders and end users, reflecting excellent customer service.
Continuous improvement in deployment processes, leveraging innovation to enhance efficiency and security.
Minimum Education and/or Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
+ 8+ years of experience in IT services, IT project management, or technology deployment, with a proven track record in managing large-scale rollouts in distributed/multi-site environments.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead teams, collaborate with development teams, and deliver innovative, customer-focused solutions within budget constraints.
+ Strong understanding of infrastructure, networking, end-user technologies, and modern security practices.
+ Experience with vendor management, contract negotiations, and ITIL service management practices.
