About the Job
The Senior Medical Director of Portfolio Strategy Medical Evidence Generation will be instrumental in shaping and executing a cohesive scientific and medical strategy across the entire franchise portfolio. Reporting to the Global Head of Alliance Immunology Portfolio Medical Strategy and Innovation, this individual will drive cross-functional and cross-therapeutic area (TA) alignment in evidence generation strategy, enhancing the value and impact of key data to inform strategic decisions and improve patient outcomes.
This role demands strong strategic leadership within medical affairs, a collaborative mindset across TAs and regions, and deep expertise in leveraging evidence generation to support disease modification strategies. The Senior Medical Director will partner closely with R&D, Medical, Commercial, and Market Access teams to ensure strategic alignment at global, regional, and local levels, while also engaging with external stakeholders, including key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare decision-makers.
Success in this role requires superior expertise in evidence generation across TAs. a robust understanding of immunology, lifecycle management, stakeholder engagement, along with the ability to impact from strategic evidence generation across multiple therapeutic areas.

Main Responsibilities
Portfolio Medical Strategy & Evidence Generation (40%)
+ Design and implement a unified, portfolio-wide Integrated Evidence Generation Plan (iEGP) that aligns with Franchise strategies, supports the value proposition of the Alliance Immunology portfolio, and drives Lifecycle Management (LCM) priorities.
+ Lead cross-therapeutic area (TA) innovation in evidence generation, including real-world evidence (RWE), by fostering collaboration across R&D, Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Market Access functions.
+ Proactively identify data gaps and emerging opportunities within the evolving portfolio landscape, offering strategic recommendations to ensure optimal investment and impact-drive decision making for the franchise
+ Spearheading initiatives to enhance external engagement and data generation partnerships, and pilot key AI-enabled RWE platforms to support portfolio strategy
+ Monitor advancements in treatment paradigms, therapeutic landscapes, and competitive activity to reinforce and expand the franchise leadership in medical evidence generation.
+ Collaborate closely with TAs, key markets and external partners to establish and operationalize a robust, competitive RWE framework that delivers timely, high-quality and impactful results aligned with core business objectives.
Cross-Functional & Regional Alignment (30%)
+ Ensure consistent integration of the iEGP across therapeutic areas, functions, and all regions and markets to drive alignment and maximize impact.
+ Collaborate closely with program management, therapeutic area, country, and regional medical teams to continuously strengthen and optimize the iEGP, with a focus on measurable outcomes in both medical and patient impact.
Impact Assessment & Execution Excellence (20%)
+ Define and implement performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the impact of the iEGP and data dissemination efforts across multiple therapeutic areas.
+ Continuously analyze insights from the evolving market landscape to refine and innovate the iEGP, ensuring it remains competitive, forward-thinking, and aligned with franchise strategic objectives.
+ Standardize strategic and tactical planning processes of iEGP across Global Medical Affairs – Alliance Immunology to ensure consistency, alignment, and operational excellence across therapeutic areas.
Portfolio & Stakeholder Engagement (10%)
+ Oversee stakeholder engagement strategies across multiple indications, developing a stakeholder management plan, including target KOL lists and segmentation strategies.
+ Represent Sanofi and the franchise to external KOLs and other key stakeholders at key conferences and events.
+ Support medical thought leadership in immunology and related therapeutic areas by driving key scientific discussions and engagement frameworks.
About You
Requirements
+ Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) required. Relevant experience in Immunology is preferred
+ 10+ years relevant experience in cross-TA roles. Experience in portfolio management and strategic planning across TAs is required.
+ Deep knowledge in dermatology, respiratory, rhinology, GI, and/or immunology.
+ Strategic planning expertise in a global management consulting firm is a strong asset.
+ Superior expertise with real-world evidence (RWE) generation, lifecycle management, and medical impact measurement.
+ Proven leadership experience in medical affairs, RWE and data generation, and stakeholder engagement.
+ Well-established strategic mindset to develop, refine, and execute cross-TA strategy and initiatives
+ Experience in developing and executing medical evidence generation plan across multiple TAs.
+ Deep expertise in disease modification strategies, evidence generation, and scientific storytelling.
+ Strong ability to work in a matrixed global environment, leading cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
+ Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience in KOL engagement, external scientific communication, and launch excellence.

The salary range for this position is:
$202,500.00 - $292,500.00
All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
