Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for overall software architecture for the operational and business support services associated with managing overall In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) system. Act as technical leader and mentor other software engineers and architects. Develop architecture design and technical roadmap. Partner and facilitate discussions between stakeholders.
What You will Be Doing:
+ Design and Develop OSS/BSS Systems for In-Flight Connectivity systems: Design and develop OSS/BSS systems that support the inflight connectivity system, including onboarding and commissioning endpoints, managing customer subscriptions, billing, and service delivery. This may involve selecting and integrating third-party software platforms, as well as developing custom software solutions.
+ Manage Technical Requirements: Manage the technical requirements for the OSS/BSS systems, including functional requirements, performance requirements, and security requirements. This may involve working closely with stakeholders, such as the inflight connectivity system operators and customers, to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.
+ Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers / testers, network engineers, product management and operations teams, to ensure that the OSS/BSS systems integrate effectively with other components of the inflight connectivity system. This may involve working closely with vendors and suppliers, as well as managing the delivery of software components from external partners.
+ Ensure Quality and Compliance: Ensure that the OSS/BSS systems meet the required quality and compliance standards, including industry-specific regulations and best practices. This may involve developing and implementing testing and quality assurance procedures, as well as working with external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
+ Provide Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to software development teams working on the OSS/BSS systems, including setting technical direction, defining best practices, and mentoring junior team members. Participate in detailed design, test plan and go-to-market reviews to ensure alignment with the chosen architecture and NFRs are met.
+ Monitor and Optimize Performance: Monitor and optimize the performance of the OSS/BSS systems, including identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks, optimizing resource usage, and ensuring that the systems meet the required service level agreements.
+ Evaluate upcoming technologies, stay current with industry best practices and adapt them into the overall architecture as needed to enable business goals and the product roadmap. Create prototypes, proof-of-concepts and demonstrations to evaluate new architecture / technologies on the systems.
The salary range of $133,000 - $231,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
+ Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or other related engineering degree, or equivalent experience.
+ 10+ years of experience as a developer, network engineer, or similar role working with OSS/BSS of large-scale distributed systems.
+ 5+ year’s architecture or technical leadership experience with OSS/BSS.
+ Experience with ServiceNow OSS platform – TSM and TSOM.
+ OSS/BSS Systems: Knowledge of OSS/BSS systems and their role in managing telecommunications services, including experience with onboarding and commissioning endpoints, managing customer subscriptions, billing, and service delivery.
+ OSS/BSS Platforms: Familiarity with existing OSS/BSS platforms and their capabilities, including tools like Ericsson Expert Analytics, Amdocs, Openetand others. Experience with customization and integration of these platforms to meet specific business needs.
+ Sales Force Integration: Experience with integrating OSS/BSS services with Sales Force, including knowledge of Sales Force APIs and data structures. Familiarity with Sales Force tools like Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Commerce Cloud, and their integration with OSS/BSS systems.
+ Distributed Systems: Knowledge of distributed systems concepts and architectures, including microservices, service-oriented architectures, and RESTful APIs.
+ Cloud Computing: Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and technologies, including containerization, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
+ Telecommunications: Understanding of telecommunications concepts and technologies, including satellite-based connectivity systems.
+ Network Management: Experience with network management and monitoring tools, including network management protocols, and other management tools.
+ API Management: Experience with managing APIs and API gateways, including knowledge of API security, throttling, caching, and monitoring. Familiarity with tools like Apigee or MuleSoft.
+ Data Analytics: Knowledge of data analytics concepts and tools, including data warehousing, data visualization, and machine learning. Experience with tools like Tableau, Power BI, ELK or Quicksights.
+ Observability and Maintainability: Understanding of best practices for building observable and maintainable systems, including the use of logging, monitoring, and alerting tools to detect and diagnose issues, and the use of automation and testing tools to ensure that systems are reliable, scalable, and easy to maintain over time.
+ Mediation experience with B2B and billing a plus.
+ Experience organizing / leading / approving design reviews, test plan reviews.
+ Experience documenting architectures and familiar with related diagraming models.
+ Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal / collaboration skills.
+ Experience in Agile development process, CI/CD and related tools such as Jira, gitlab, Jenkins, confluence.

This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year plus a paid company-wide shut down in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year.
