Job Description
Join a dynamic consumer packaged goods company and provide essential project support during a transition to a third-party warehousing partner. You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive accounting support, including account reconciliations, audit assistance, year-end close activities, managing the accounts receivable deduction process, and addressing ad hoc accounting requests.
Responsibilities
+ Complete balance sheet account reconciliations (cash, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, intercompany, etc.) ensuring accuracy and completeness of supporting schedules.
+ Prepare and organize audit support documentation, including Prepared by Client requests and audit tie-outs.
+ Assist in year-end close activities such as journal entries, variance analysis, and account rollforwards.
+ Support the accounts receivable deductions process, investigating short-pays, trade spend, and customer chargebacks.
+ Collaborate with the accounting and sales operations teams to resolve open deductions, validate credits, and update deduction tracking.
+ Provide ad-hoc analysis and support related to audit findings, balance sheet reviews, and process improvements.
+ Maintain organized digital files and ensure all schedules are audit-ready and properly cross-referenced.
Essential Skills
+ 3-7 years of accounting experience in a consumer packaged goods company.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
+ Proven experience supporting month-end and year-end close and external audits.
+ Strong proficiency in account reconciliations and working with large data sets.
+ Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and conditional formulas.
+ Experience with systems such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar.
+ Familiarity with A/R deductions and trade spend accounting is highly preferred.
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
+ Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in the consumer packaged goods industry.
+ Knowledge of Navision or similar accounting software.

This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while staying connected with the team digitally.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position, 100% remote, based out of Richmond, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
