Job Title: Senior Grants and Contracts AnalystJob Description
As a Senior Grants and Contracts Analyst, you will partner with departmental faculty, budgetary staff, and the office of research to plan and develop application submissions to various federal offices, private agencies, and foundations. You will utilize institutional policies for the pre-award grant process and sponsor guidelines, and act as the final point of contact in these areas.
Responsibilities
+ Review all sponsored project proposals for assigned faculty before submission to the Grants and Contracts Manager and ORA for signature.
+ Prepare proposal budgets for Principal Investigator review in a timely manner.
+ Provide instruction, preparation assistance, and support for grant application procedures.
+ Serve as a liaison between research units, central offices, and funding agencies.
+ Review budgets and related justifications for appropriateness and completeness.
+ Lay the groundwork for subcontract negotiations.
+ Ensure compliance with sponsoring organization guidelines and internal protocols in grant and contract management.
+ Manage grant submissions to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
+ Maintain updates and communications related to current grants and contracts, including regular audits and financial status reporting.
+ Manage post-award processes, including award setup and account verification.
+ Oversee and direct complex award management activities, including monitoring and reporting.
+ Ensure all closeouts are handled appropriately by team members.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in post-award and preferably pre-award processes.
+ Extensive experience with Excel.
+ Strong financial analysis skills.
+ Background in accounting or finance.
+ Ability to make independent judgments and act on decisions daily.
+ Flexibility to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and meet concurrent deadlines.
+ Thorough knowledge of Federal guidelines and procedures for grants and contracts, including NIH, NSF, DOD, and NASA.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree.
+ Four years of related experience in sponsored research or financial positions, preferably in an academic or medical setting.
+ Knowledge of accounting and budgeting theory and practices.
+ Experience with SAP or larger ERP systems.
+ Experience with HRSA and research administration.
Work Environment
This position is 100% remote, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from the comfort of your own space. The role involves using software such as SAP, Jaws, and Swift Systems.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, Maryland.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $45.67/hr.
