Staff Accountant opportunity in Miramar FL! This is 4 days on site and 1 day remote! Must be comfortable with Excel, debits, and credits!
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role is crucial in ensuring adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls, applying accounting policies, and achieving departmental goals.
Responsibilities
+ Manage and coordinate responsibilities of several coordinator staff to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
+ Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) to ensure accurate accounting.
+ Understand and assess the impact of exchange rates and valuation issues across different countries.
+ Identify potential internal control issues and liaise with Internal Audit for resolution.
+ Review account reconciliations and intercompany transactions, and post journal entries prepared by staff.
+ Assist management in analyzing significant year-over-year or month-over-month fluctuations in Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet accounts.
+ Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items.
+ Assist with the generation of financial schedules and documentation for audits.
+ Conduct User Acceptance Testing on financial systems or upgrades.
+ Assist in the hiring, evaluation, and performance reviews of direct reports.
+ Interface with auditors and Information Technology as necessary.
+ Recognize and troubleshoot system-related issues, communicating findings to department analysts.
+ Maintain a systematic record retention system and articulate service, process, and system-related issues to management.
+ Maintain statistical reports that substantiate production volume and uphold departmental service levels.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited university.
+ 4-7 years of experience in financial/management reporting and general ledger reconciliation and analysis.
+ 3-4 years of experience in accounting practices and supervisory roles.
+ Proficiency in U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders, including senior management.
+ Strong analytical skills for reading and interpreting financial reports.
+ Efficient time management skills.
Work Environment
This position is based in a hybrid work environment with one position located at the Miramar location in Miramar, FL. The role involves working with various technologies and requires adherence to departmental service standards.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Miami, Florida.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
