    The Business Manager - Windows Consumer Marketing is a strategic partner and operational leader to the Vice President and the broader leadership team.

     

    The Business Manager - Windows Consumer Marketing role is pivotal in driving the organization’s mission to redefine personal productivity and enable Modern Achievers to make the most of their time, focusing on engagement and revenue across Windows with accountabilities for Windows consumer business and to partner across Surface, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Edge, and Bing for consumers organizations.

    Responsibilities

    + Partner with the Windows Consumer Marketing Leadership Team to shape organizational strategy, long-range planning, and annual priorities.

    + Drive alignment across business units including Go-To-Market (GTM), Devices, Product Marketing Management (PMM), Storytelling, and Insights to ensure clarity and focus on consumer growth, innovation, and operational excellence.

    + Orchestrate leadership team meetings, staff forums, and offsites to strengthen communication, alignment, and connection across the organization.

    + Oversee internal communications strategy and execution for Windows Consumer Marketing, ensuring timely, transparent messaging throughout the organization (e.g., All Hands meetings, strategy updates, organizational announcements).

    + Serve as a liaison between Windows Consumer Marketing and key external stakeholders in the Consumer Marketing Organization (CMO), facilitating alignment, reporting on organizational progress, and representing the Vice President in cross-team initiatives.

    + Develop and implement programs that invest in people and leadership development—such as mentorship, manager training, and talent review processes—to grow team capabilities and support career growth.

    + Provide hands-on program management to ensure objectives are met on time and outcomes are delivered, adjusting course as necessary to achieve results.

    Qualifications

    Required/Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.

    + 6+ years of experience driving high-priority cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives that fall outside the day-to-day product development pipeline.

    Additional or Preferred Qualifications

    + Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 12+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.

     

    Business Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
