    The Industry Solutions Engineering (ISE) team is a global engineering organization that works directly with customers looking to leverage the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges.

     

    We work closely with our customers’ engineers to jointly develop code for cloud-based solutions that can accelerate their organization. We work in collaboration with Microsoft product teams, partners, and open-source communities to empower our customers to do more with the cloud. We develop solutions side-by-side with our customers through collaborative innovation to solve their challenges. This work involves the development of broadly applicable, high-impact solution patterns and open-source software assets that contribute to the Microsoft platform.

     

    We are hiring a Product Design Specialist to define specific product needs based on user insights to ideate to define solutions to meet user needs and create and develop design concepts and specifications that optimize the emotional and functional experience of a product, software, device, or service. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of software engineers, technical program managers, and data scientists to work side-by-side with high-impact and strategic customers and their engineers to build innovative solutions.

    Responsibilities

    + You will interact with Engineering and perform QAs to ensure quality while showing the ability to challenge design limitations.You’llalso produce visual designs and mentor othersontheir creation.

    + You will create wireframes, journey maps, and other elements to support interaction design.You’llalso begin to lead product UX improvements by creating interaction models while acting as a liaison between users and products.

    + You will communicate with cross-disciplinary teams across all stages of design and development. You will also tell a compelling, convincing product story to a specific audience.

    + You will work with creative team members, program managers, and developers to define product features.You’llcollaborate with your team to deliver product design results while also providing guidance to product designers.

    Qualifications

    Required/Minimum Qualifications (RQs/MQs)

    + Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND5+years experienceworking in product or service design

    + ORMaster's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND4+years experienceworking in product or service design

    + OR equivalent experience (e.g.,demonstratedexperience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems)

    + 3+ years of industry experience using and designing for AI

    Additional** **or Preferred Qualifications (PQs)

    + Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND8+years experienceworking in product or service design

    + ORMaster's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND6+years experienceworking in product or service design

    + OR equivalent experience (e.g.,demonstratedexperience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).

    + 4+years experienceshipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customersas a result ofan end-to-end design process

    + Enjoy travel and are comfortable with travel up to 25%

     

    Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
