    The Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences (SLHS), University of Colorado, Boulder, invites applications for an assistant professor tenure-track faculty position in interdisciplinary research in oral and/or sign language acquisition, bilingualism, bimodalism, and communication access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, with a focus on research that expands access, improves outcomes, and recognizes the diversity of human communication.

     

    As a faculty member in SLHS, the successful candidate will be expected to have a strong record of independent research leading to publications in high quality journals and potential for securing extramural research funding. SLHS faculty are expected to teach and mentor students in the department's clinical AUD/ Master's SLP/ undergraduate and PhD programs, and participate in service.     Who We Are

     

    The SLHS department includes highly ranked, CAA accredited clinical graduate programs in SLP and Audiology and offers B.A., M.A., AuD, and Ph.D. degrees. The successful candidate will benefit from SLHS's thriving and dynamic ties with other offerings on the Boulder campus such as the Institute of Cognitive Science, the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience, the Intermountain Neuroimaging Consortium, the Institute of Behavioral Genetics, the Department of Linguistics, and offerings on the Anschutz campus of the University of Colorado at Anschutz Medical Center.

     

    What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

     

    The successful candidate will be expected to have an active and independent research program resulting in publication in high quality journals and evidence of success in extra-mural research funding. Candidates are expected to maintain their vigorous research program and have enthusiasm for undergraduate and graduate teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and mentor students in the department's clinical AUD/ Master's SLP program, undergraduate and Ph.D. programs and participate in service.

    + This is an in-person faculty position with in-person teaching, research and service required.

    What We Can Offer

     

    Salary and start-up are highly competitive and commensurate with experience. Starting Salary range is $85,000 - $90,000. Moving assistance may also be available for the successful candidate.

    What We Require

     

    Minimum qualifications: The minimum requirement is a Ph.D. in Audiology, Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences or related fields. Candidates who are ABD (All But Dissertation) will be considered; however, all degree requirements must be completed prior to the start date of the appointment. Candidates must be eligible for the CCC-A or CCC-SLP.
