    Job Title: Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition

     

    Employment Type: Direct Hire

     

    Work Model: Hybrid – Monday through Thursday (9 hours/day), Friday (4 hours/day).

     

    Onsite Schedule: 3 days in office (Mondays required), 2 days remote.

    Overview

    System One is seeking a Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition to lead and manage multiple recruiting teams that support large-scale engineering operations. This position will oversee recruitment strategy, team performance, and process improvement initiatives while partnering closely with senior leadership and department managers across technical disciplines.

     

    This is a hybrid role based in Houston, TX (onsite three days per week, Mondays required).

    Key Responsibilities

    + Lead and develop 2–3 teams of recruiting professionals, driving performance, process efficiency, and consistent results.

    + Oversee sourcing and recruitment strategies for engineering, project management, and technical roles across multiple disciplines (process, mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, I&C, project controls, and procurement).

    + Partner with department and project leaders to forecast staffing needs and implement effective hiring plans.

    + Build and maintain pipelines of qualified talent through proactive sourcing, networking, and market outreach.

    + Ensure all recruiting practices align with company policies and comply with state, federal, and local employment laws.

    + Manage vendor relationships and third-party recruiting partners as needed.

    + Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on service excellence and candidate experience.

    + Provide leadership with regular reporting on key recruiting metrics, sourcing trends, and competitive market data.

    + Stay current with trends in engineering, construction, and industrial labor markets to anticipate hiring challenges.

    Required Qualifications

    + 5+ years of recruiting experience, with 5+ years in a leadership or management role overseeing recruiters.

    + Proven success leading recruiting teams supporting engineering or technical industries.

    + Strong understanding of project-based engineering roles and the broader industrial talent landscape.

    + Excellent leadership and coaching skills; able to motivate and develop teams.

    + Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with internal stakeholders and external partners.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and applicant tracking systems (ATS).

    + Ability to plan and lead recruiting events; travel as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience working in an engineering, EPC, or construction environment.

    + Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

    + PHR or SHRM-CP certification.

    + Knowledge of employment laws, compliance, and best hiring practices.
