    Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems – Propulsion Division is seeking a **Fire Chief** Manager 2 to lead the fire department at the Magna and Promontory locations.

     

    The **Fire Chief** is responsible for developing, directing, monitoring, and administering an effective emergency response and fire prevention program designed to protect and safeguard personnel, company, and government facilities and property within the company’s Utah-based premises against loss or damage by fire. The Fire Chief acts as the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) over fire related matters for Propulsion Systems locations and functions as a liaison with all other State/County/City departments on fire protection matters. Primary office location can be at Promontory or Bacchus.

     

    Monthly travel to each of the four PS Utah sites is required.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Performs incident command responsibilities during emergency incidents and act as a member of the Crisis Management Team

    + Acts as AHJ for fire code interpretation, liaison with 3rd party insurance inspection audits, participates in fire plan reviews, ensures that fire department representation is present for all committees, and manages SQDEC board updates

    + Directs the fire department fire inspection program for all Utah PS facilities

    + Responsible for the fire department training program and ensures all team members receive needed training and necessary certifications

    + Mentors Battalion Chiefs, Captains and senior firefighters in leadership skills

    + Oversees all fire inspection records of facilities, including fire protection equipment

    + Develops and manages department budget for equipment and personnel to adequately carry out the company’s fire prevention and response program

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Required current Utah State certifications:

    + Fire Fighter I

    + Fire Fighter II

    + Advanced EMT

    + Hazardous Materials-Technician

    + Driver Operator Pumper

    + Fire Officer 1

    + Fire Instructor 1

    + Fire Inspector 1

    + Must be able to meet sight, hearing, and physical response comparable to NFPA 1582 chapter 6 and chapter 9

    + Current/valid Utah driver’s license

    + High school diploma required

    + 12 years of emergency response experience or Fire Science degree and 10 years’ experience; 7 years’ leadership experience within Northrop Grumman Fire Department

    Preferred Requirements:

    + Utah Type 3 and 4 Fire Extinguisher certification

    + Utah Automatic Fire Sprinkler Technician II certification

    + Knowledge of all PS facility locations, including buildings and operations

     

    Primary Level Salary Range: $101,500.00 - $152,300.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
