THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is offering an exciting position for an Information Technology Generalist 2 working out of the Northeast Regional Office in Dallas, Pennsylvania. In this vital role, you will have the opportunity to service the PC and network needs of the Northeastern part of the state, the remainder of the agency’s regional offices, game lands, and Harrisburg. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Information Technology (IT) Generalist 2, you will be considered an agency IT Specialist. You will configure, install, and provide support for the PGC’s Utility Mobile Access Platform (Rocket) in support of the agency’s Law Enforcement Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. You can expect to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and communication issues in addition to troubleshooting connectivity to in-house Dashboard systems. You will have the opportunity to provide remote technical guidance to Game Wardens to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve Wireless Access Point/router network performance problems. This position monitors, reports, corrects and initiates follow-up on all end-user data telecommunication problems reported on the PGC Help Desk.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Telework is not permitted during the initial six-month probationary period; eligibility may be granted upon its successful completion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Dallas. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ One year as an Information Technology Generalist 1, Applications Developer 1, or Network Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
+ Four years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services;or
+ Two years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field;or
+ A bachelor's degree in any information technology field;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.
+ Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credit.
