Job Description
Product Handler II -Paint (1st Shift)
Position Summary: Join our world-class team at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. in Asheville, NC, where you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission. As a Manufacturing Specialist, you will pre-inspect the quality of fabricated parts and manage the loading and unloading processes for our automatic conveyor paint line. Your efforts will ensure that our products are delivered flawlessly to internal assembly lines.
Responsibilities:
+ Ensure all parts are hung in the accurate color order and verify the accurate part number, quantity, color, and destination.
+ Remove painted items, inspect for defects, and perform touch-ups as needed.
+ Use protective supplies to ensure parts delivered to assembly lines are free of dings, dents, scratches, and scuff marks.
+ Deliver finished goods to manufacturing lines or store them in designated racks.
+ Support and cover all operations on the line as requested by the supervisor, requiring cross-training and flexibility.
+ Follow required safety procedures and use equipment according to company policies, ISO standards, quality, and safety guidelines.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area to support co-workers, safety, and efficiency.
+ Engage in and suggest initiatives that support team goals and continuous process improvement.
+ Communicate effectively within the cell or with other departments to relay key information and seek suggestions regarding production issues and goals.
+ Perform all job duties consistent with the Code of Ethics and the 4-I Values, serving as a role model in the workplace.
+ Train and mentor new employees or transitioning workers in the area.
+ Use computer systems to check e-mail, complete online training, and fulfill Performance Management and Development (PMD) annual review processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent experience.
+ Ability to stand, bend, reach, and handle bulky parts regularly, with frequent lifting up to 35 pounds.
+ Beginner computer skills or a willingness to learn.
+ Ability to read and differentiate part numbers, labels, and work instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Prior manufacturing experience.
+ General knowledge of spray finish tools and processes.
