OUR MISSION
Our mission is to ensure the physical and operational integrity of the regional flood risk management system in southeastern Louisiana as a defense against floods and storm surge from hurricanes. We accomplish this mission by working with local, regional, state, and federal partners to plan, design, construct, operate and maintain projects that will reduce the probability and risk of flooding for the residents and businesses within our jurisdiction.
ABOUT THIS POSITION
This position provides complex administrative support for the Southeast- Louisiana Flood Protection Authority- East's Human Resources department. The incumbent reports to the Human Resources Director and assists the Director with managing the daily operations of the HR office. This position also supports the work of the (I) HR Supervisor, (1) HR Analyst, (2) HR Specialists, and (1) Training and Development Specialist.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Generates time and attendance reports from Payroll/HR system to identify anomalies in attendance so that the HR Specialist can determine if absences should be protected by FMLA
+ Assists current employees with licensing renewal processes, such as annual CDL physical renewals; sends requests to the outside medical facility, schedules the appointment for the employee with the medical facility, files result in personnel files and sends updated information to the designee in the Finance department for recording
+ Coordinates travel and attendance for HR staff’s attendance at seminars, conferences, training etc.; prepares registration with credit card payment, adds information to staff calendar, sends invoice and payment confirmation to the Finance department designee
+ Coordinate New Hire training schedule. Contact each new employee and their supervisor to schedule training sessions. Ensure the schedule accommodates both employee and supervisor availability.
+ Monitor training progress and follow up with employees who have not completed or missed any sessions. Reschedule incomplete or missed training sessions as necessary to ensure compliance
+ Assists HR Director or HR staff with special events, including employee recognition events by securing needed materials and supplies, preparing agendas or programs, etc.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational
Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group (CPG).
Work Schedule: This is a full-time position (40-hour work week); it offers a flexible work schedule.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Full-time employees are eligible for a compressive benefits package, including participation in the state’s retirement plan, health insurance, agency-paid short-term disability coverage, paid holidays, and paid annual and sick leave.
