About the Role
We’re seeking a nurturing and experienced Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to support young learners in Kenosha, WI. This role focuses on individualized instruction, developmental support, and collaboration with families and staff to help children thrive in their earliest years of learning.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
? Prepare student education plans in collaboration with families and team members
? Support learning for children with a range of developmental and physical needs
? Design engaging instruction that aligns with early childhood standards
? Collaborate with parents, administrators, and specialists to promote holistic development
? Prepare classroom materials and learning environments
? Coordinate and implement IEPs with general education staff
? Monitor progress and revise IEPs as needed
? Maintain accurate student records
? Mentor and support teaching assistants
? Support transitions and foundational life skills
? Assess developmental and educational needs
? Communicate regularly with families and other educators
? Follow district policies and procedures
Minimum Requirements
? Experience in Early Childhood Special Education
? Ability to obtain or hold a Wisconsin DPI 1809 license
? Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
? Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
? Minimum of 1 year experience in a teaching environment (preferred)
? Certification Types (preferred):
+ Standard Elementary Teaching
+ Standard Secondary Teaching
+ Standard Special Teaching
? Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred)
? Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
? Current CPR certification (if applicable)
? TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
? Current Health Certificate (per contract/state regulation)
? Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
? Successful completion of new hire training (as applicable)
? Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
? Strong communication skills; proficiency in English required
? Computer proficiency required
? Must be at least 18 years of age
