             Job Description** **: The Payroll Tax Specialist will report to the Sr. Manager, Payroll and HRIS and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions related to the US, Puerto Rico, and Canada payroll taxes. This role will assist in processing US, Puerto Rico, and Canada payrolls and provide support for audits, compliance, and reporting requests. Remote position (U.S.); East Coast location preferred. Core business hours are 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. ET. Must have multi-state experience. Responsibilities** **: + Maintain payroll tax registrations, respond to agency notices, and support compliance requirements. + Respond to third-party tax provider cases, update SUI rates, and research issues as needed. + Review payroll inputs, including bonuses, commissions, and deductions, to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations. + Review quarterly and annual payroll tax filings, including annual W-2 and T-4 filings. + Audit employee records to ensure accurate set up and withholding for state and local taxes based on residential and work locations. + Perform tax adjustments as needed to ensure accuracy and compliance. + Process payroll for hourly and salary employees, including calculating salary, deductions, bonuses, and benefits. + Provide support with audits, compliance checks, reports, and system upgrades. + Address and resolve employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and deductions professionally and promptly. + Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and implement necessary process changes. + Maintain payroll records, tax records, documentation, and confidentiality of employee information in compliance with data protection laws and company policies. Skills & Qualifications: + 8+ years of experience in multi-state payroll processing, with 5+ years of payroll tax experience. + Proficient in payroll and HCM software and systems, Workday preferred. + Strong understanding of Federal and multi-state payroll laws, tax laws, and compliance regulations, India and Mexico knowledge a plus. + Experience handling payroll tax notices, registrations, and reconciliations. + Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work with large volumes of data accurately. + Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. + Strong Excel skills. **Wage Range** **:** The annual starting salary for this position is between $56,250 – $82,500 annually.
