             Company : Allegheny Health Network Job Description : _**This role is labeled hybrid and will require on-site attendance at Fifth Avenue Place in Pittsburgh, PA.**_ GENERAL OVERVIEW: Incumbent is responsible for the successful implementation of the AHN enterprise-wide Quality and Safety goals and objectives for designated locations. Oversees the Institute Quality, Safety, and Regulatory/Accreditation function, while working in tandem with other Quality and Safety network functions such as Patient Safety, Infection Prevention, Regulatory Preparedness and Data Analytics & reporting. Accountable for driving results to achieve top performance for all clinical, patient safety, accreditation and regulatory preparedness which may include but are not limited to: CLIA certificates, PA Bureau of Labs and NY State DOH permits, CAP accreditation or NY State Lab licensure. Responsible for driving and/or supporting Lean improvement efforts to realize efficiencies and maximized resource utilization. Role functions in a matrixed environment with network quality, safety and regulatory department directors and Pathology Institute VP Operations and/or Chair. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES + Lead and/or facilitate internal quality and safety initiatives within the Pathology Institute and other AHN business units with laboratories to achieve successful outcomes and minimized harm to patients and staff. (20%) + Responsible for working collaboratively with Institute/Departments/Centers and Facility representatives to design and implement best practices and drive highest performance outcomes. (20%) + Ensure capture and management of all lab quality related data; ensure timely reporting and transmission of information for regulatory and accreditation needs; provide useful quality analytics to inform decision making. (15%) + Serve as subject matter expert for lab regulatory queries and accreditation/regulatory preparation both within the Pathology Institute and other AHN business units. (15%) + Provide ongoing educational support for departments in areas of performance improvement including quality models, lean instruction, analysis, facilitation, etc; (10%) + Provide ongoing communication on progress, opportunities for improvement and direction on areas of focus in Pathology Institute clinical quality and patient safety throughout the year to various stakeholders and forums. (10%) + Maximize efficiency in lab clinical quality, safety and regulatory/accreditation practices with focused efforts on opportunities for improved results and communication; Outcome will be to support value-based care delivery. (10%) + Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Required + Master's degree in Business, Health Administration or Health related degree **OR** 7-10 years progressive advancement in leadership roles in laboratory or related health service area + 3 years in developing, implementing, and anchoring outcomes in health-related quality and safety process improvement results + Ability to work in highly matrixed, fast paced organization across institute, hospitals and practice settings + Lab Professional Certification from an accredited institution, or equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirement defined in the CLIA regulation 42CFR493.1489 (obtain within 1 year) Preferred + 1 years in CAP lab survey leadership + Knowledge of MCARE Act and PA Patient Safety Authority Reporting Requirements **_Disclaimer:_** _The job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work performed by employees within this job title.
