    Job Description

    No Holidays, Weekends, or On-Call**

     

    The Supervisor of Perioperative Services assists and supervises nursing and support staff at UHSC. Coordinates duties of nursing staff and works collaboratively with surgical staff and UHSC leadership team. Provides care for surgical patients with acute, chronic and/or terminal illnesses. Performs assessments based on the patient’s surgery, medical condition, and care needs. Utilizes the nursing process to plan perform, delegate, and evaluate the delivery of nursing care in the OR department **.**

     

    Former summary: Assists during ophthalmic surgeries, supervises nursing and support staff. Coordinates duties of nursing staff. Works collaboratively with surgical staff and UHSC leadership team.

    Minimum Requirements

    + Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, or equivalence in a combination of relevant education and experience.

    + Current State of Missouri license as a Registered Nurse (RN), must maintain active status

    + Two years Operating Room and scrub experience.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to instruct staff and prepare documentation.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Master’s degree
