The Norfolk Police Department is seeking to hire a Management Analyst I. This position will perform project management, administrative functions, and financial duties to support the staff and the processing functions of the Personnel and Accreditation Division, which may include support across other divisions and/or other departments. Through the Personnel and Accreditation Division this Management Analyst I position will assist with administration of hiring and personnel functions as well as administration for the Accreditation portion of the division. Essential Functions Department hiring salary $46,589.00 - $53,577.00 Provides functions to include but not limited to: + Performs financial duties for the department by posting data to the general ledger, reconciling bank statements, preparing the budget, preparing year end schedules and reports and processing payroll and accounts payable. + Tracks, refers and files paperwork related to hiring amongst various divisions within the Norfolk Police Department. + Maintains contact and communication with multiple division heads to ensure smooth and expedited hiring of new employees. + Performs administrative functions specific to the tracking, managing and analyzing of departmental staffing numbers and ensures they are accounted correctly and distributed to the appropriate personnel + Performs related duties by serving as administrator of various programs, assisting personnel with software and hardware issues and performing other duties as assigned. + Performs other related duties as required. Education/Experience Work requires a broad knowledge in a professional business field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Two years’ experience in data analysis or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This will be a pre-tax payroll deduction. If you are hired January 1, 2022, or after to a position with Virginia Retirement System (VRS) benefits, you will be required to contribute five percent (5%) of your salary toward your retirement benefit. This will be a pre-tax payroll deduction. + The Tuition Assistance Program is established to encourage employees toward continued self-development and education. Permanent full-time and permanent part-time classified, unclassified permanent, full-time special projects, and constitutional employees who have completed six months continuous service will be eligible to apply.
