    Role Overview

    We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our composites team in Tallassee. This role will focus on the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for composite fan casings and other aerostructures used in commercial aircraft.

    Key Responsibilities

    Develop and implement manufacturing processes for composite fan casings and structural components.

     

    Collaborate with design, tooling, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with aerospace standards.

     

    Support production ramp-up and continuous improvement initiatives for composite layup, curing, machining, and assembly.

     

    Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions to maintain production efficiency and quality.

     

    Lead root cause analysis and process validation for new and existing composite parts.

     

    Maintain documentation for process control, work instructions, and technical specifications.

     

    Interface with suppliers and customers to ensure alignment on technical requirements and delivery schedules.

    Skills and Requirements

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.

     

    3+ years of experience in composite manufacturing, preferably in aerospace.

     

    Strong understanding of composite materials (e.g., carbon fiber, epoxy resins) and processes (e.g., autoclave curing, RTM, filament winding).

     

    Experience with CAD/CAM software and manufacturing simulation tools.

     

    Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, and other aerospace quality standards.

     

    Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills. Preferred Skills

     

    Experience with composite fan casings or rotating components.

     

    Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

     

    Hands-on experience with tooling design and process automation.
